Hardware, Security, SensitiveInformation, Services. My untainted travel in the world of Security. Creation time of files (Linux ext4 filesystem). There is no simple way to find out the creation time of a file. You can only see the modified and accessed times with e.g. ls. To get the creation time of e.g. /var/log/messages which is stored on a logical volume called vg-os-log which is mounted under /var/log/. Dev/mapper/vg-oslog on /var/log type ext4 (rw). Debugfs -R 'stat messages' /dev/mapper/vg-oslog.

Hardware, Security, SensitiveInformation, Services. My untainted travel in the world of Security. So why this blog? Because I want to warn people for the threats in the digitally accessible world of Internet. Especially kids. They grow up with the ease of accessibility of the Internet and Social Media. Hopefully I can inspire other people to join the ‘ good guys’ in the world of Security. By YogiBear75 on 10/19/2012. Add your comment Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
