Belang-Belang: Kimi's Tools
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2015/02/kimis-tools.html
Monday, February 16, 2015. I have been obsessed with Lamaze toys since before having a kid (colourful! They are very pricey in Malaysia, hence I have been collecting them through garage sales, Vinnies and eBay. Anyways, I am currently teaching Kimi about tools. He likes the Disney cartoon Handy Manny, which is so adorable. His Lamaze toolbox contains only a saw and a hammer. So I thought it would be fun to add some new ones. Cepat belakon, Ibu nak ketip gambar ni. ". Posted by Ju Zie. I was torn between ...

Belang-Belang: Karipap... Ke Tu?
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2015/02/karipap-ke-tu.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Karipap. Ke Tu? Hasben was so excited, promised to make me some curry puff using Mama's frozen chicken curry. He said that Kak Su suggested using this for a ready-made, hassle-free dough:. He didn't want to admit it but he needed my help to actually put the plan into place. The moment I saw this rectangular shaped curry puff, I knew some intervention was required. With my help, you could say they looked identifiable. But after deep-fried, yikes! Posted by Ju Zie. I was torn ...

Belang-Belang: November 2014
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 20, 2014. It took me a week, but I finally completed my first jubah. With Spotlight having a massive sale, I spent $13 on a 3 meter cotton fabric and $1 on the ribbon. If the finished work was a disaster, I wouldn't feel too bad about chucking it in the bin. But it turned out alright. I traced my favourite jubah, the one Mak bought from Mecca, and basically just copy-pasted the design and size. Added the zipper for BFing. Posted by Ju Zie. Friday, November 14, 2014. It's bad, bad, bad!

Belang-Belang: JuZie the Barber!
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2015/03/juzie-barber.html
Monday, March 9, 2015. Amazing how the need to survive forces a person to develop skills they never thought they could master. And in my case, hair-cutting skills, level 1. Malaysian males generally get their hair cut by mamak barbers for RM10 while Australian males get their hair done in saloons for approximately $20 (=RM60! Me with hijab could not care less about this, unlike facials and massages, which I so terribly miss. Did you know that plastic bag clips make decent hair clips? Posted by Ju Zie.

Belang-Belang: February 2015

Saturday, February 21, 2015. While everyone else around the world is celebrating Chinese New Year, we too had our own version of 'makan besar'. The dads had this spontaneous plan to make satay and kuah kacang despite the rumours of Cyclone Marcia hitting Toowoomba this weekend. They stayed up late at Kimi's house preparing the ingredients for the satay, which the Malays call 'cucuk sate'. The food was in abundance! Can you see how complicated this sentence is? http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2015/03/crows-nest-national-park-qld.html
Sunday, March 15, 2015. Crows Nest National Park, Qld. Went for a late afternoon bush walk at Crows Nest NP. Ok, my pose is gross but this is the only picture with the signboard. The walking track to the waterfall was fairly easy for my 3YO, can be a bit long. We only managed to visit The Cascades as the other 2 swimming spots were a bit tough to reach for Kimi. The creek was filled up with water (yeay! And this is such a lovely view. During warmer months, the creek is usually dried up. Posted by Ju Zie.

Belang-Belang: April 2015
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 4, 2015. Lake Cressbrook, QLD. So Lake Cressbrook is just a few KMs away from Lake Perseverance. As we drove downhill, we could see the beautiful lake, tucked in between the green hills. The visitors' area was divided into two parts: campers and picnickers. The picnic area has a children's playground, toilet and several picnic shades and BBQs. We erected our sunshade right by the lake and had hot lunch of butter chicken with rice and nuggets. Setting up our sunshade. Posted by Ju Zie.

Belang-Belang: October 2014
http://belang-belangz.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 13, 2014. 30 and 3 - Mega Celebration! My boy turns 3 today while Hasben is 30 years 1 day old! We were very excited to have a little party for Kimi since he now understands the joy of a birthday party (am guessing from his kids' apps and cartoon shows). Made a party invitation card for him and asked him to check the mailbox for it. He ran from the mailbox to the house, his face full of expectation. His reaction when I yelled "SURPRISE! Was priceless ;0). No homemade mommy's cake? But fir...

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Lake Perseverance, Qld. Visited Lake Perseverance while on our way to Lake Cressbrook. Got excited at the first sight of the blue lake, so we stopped by the road to take some pictures. Not a brilliant idea though, kind of dangerous! But awesome snap, right? Just a few metres ahead was the picnic area with a much safer photo opportunities. *Feeling duhhh.*. Anyways, another dam checked in! Posted by Ju Zie. Sunday, March 15, 2015.
